The top view look really nice.
It actually show how busy people are in the city.
By creating the space under the story bridge, it will chagne the movement of the people into the space.
It actually takes quite a long time to render this animation !!
3 hours per animation... Incredible.. I want to find out some faster way to render.
Let's see in the top view to see how it looks like.
Great..
Another try ! just one more ~
Let's try in different angles
Very very good !!
It looks great actually !! Let's try in some other views
It takes too long time to upload the video so I convert them into avi file with using the converter, but it shows the text in the middle. It does not bother too much so, it will just keep using it.
Also, the powerpoint does not offer the quicktime animation in the presentation, so it might be good to start to get used to using the converter.
This particle movement shows the original people movement before the space is created and the other videos will show the movement of the people after the space is created.
I made some of the particles which have differnet coloured particles in different type of spaces.
I will make some fun particle movement animation with this model !
It might be very interesting to see it.
Now let's make some fun stuff !
The orange part of the space represents the high dense residential buildings. It is just across the story bridge which is clearly seen from our proposed site.
The city map development.
As there were some empty space in the city that has not been made properly yet, so I put some of the buildings in that space by using blender.
As it is really easy to copy the objects in the blender, it took for a while to make this space but not too long time.
design process
This design will make the air flow naturally and protect people from rain as well as the sunlight.
It will provide a shelter for people.
However, the design is a bit boring at the moment. Let's make it interesting.
Other than this abstract roof structure, I will try to make more simple structure.
Design process
The incline angle should be really low for people to walk upstairs easily.
I copied a few of them to create the row of wave form.
It also surround the slab on the second level of the building.
Now I have a real form of the supporting column. I will use this as left part of the building which supports the floor slab as well as the ramp for people to walk up the level.
Now I have one supporting beam. As it is in subsurf mode, very smooth structure has been created. I will make it back to normal so that it looks like a real support.
and then , I will copy several of them to make the form like a real wave shape.
I extend the line by pressing e button and create some surfaces.
After this step, I will make the thickness for these supporting beams.
After selecting them, I separated them with p button.
Now I have a single line which has several points on it !
How can I make the form...
To create a new form of the wave form, I tried to get one line out of the original form.
As I am going to make the structure as support beams, I only need to get a single line to create the form. I will try to duplicate them and move them to create the new form.

process until final design
The form of the original building

Week 11
- Change the size of structure (especially heights)
- Put the thickness onto the walls and floors.
- Rough ideas of proper pathways, considering the moving path of pedestrian, using particle movements
- Develop the site
- Create the floor plans with using grease pencil.
- Decide open spaces and dark spaces.
Week 12
- Developing the concept ‘Dynamic movement’ by creating more lights and shadows.
(more animations of fluid, wave trial)
- Divide the commercial spaces into several layers.
- Interactions between three different spaces.
(space allocation)
- Prototype model
Week 13
- Finalise the design
- Different lightings
- Fly through animation
Week 14
- Proper floor plans, sections & elevations
- Final prototype model
Week 15
- Make presentations
- A1 panel, powerpoints
